Hello,

I have 5 L129 in a 63 gallons tank. This fishs have 2 years old but they don't spawn.

I have made hole in wood. The size of hole are twelve cm deep and 24mm of diameter...

The diameter of the hole have an importance or not ?
What is the good diameter for L 129 ?
Deep of hole nécésarry ?

Is it possible to put other hypancistrus but not the same specie ?
I have young L333 (1 year and 6 or 7 cm). Is it possible to put together ?
How many L 333 is it possible to put with my five L 129 ?
Is there à risk of fights into the two species ?

(It's only during 1 year to grow L333. At adult size L333 will go in a new specific tank)

In 2 ou 3 days, il will put my tank in photo here.

Thanks you very much for your help.

24mm diameter should be fine. Multiple caves varying in size (24mm to 36mm diameter) would probably be best for trying to breed. It's more options for them to choose from. 12cm deep should also be fine, but I wouldn't go much shorter than that.

Putting L333 and L129 together would not be a great idea as they are both hypancistrus and similar in size. This could very likely lead to hybridization (a L333 and a L129 mating) which is frowned upon in the hobby as it leads to mislabeling, bad genes, a muddied gene pool, etc. I don't know how old they need to get to start breeding, but once they get bigger than the L129, I wouldn't keep them in the same tank. They could start getting territorial and with 5+ L129 and several L333 in a 60 gallon tank it could lead to some fighting, especially if there aren't enough caves/hiding spaces.
