? BTW, I don't have pictures of that long Tatia sp. in the cat-elog. If you're willing to provide pictures, I would like to add it as such.
I look forward to meeting you in November,
Cheers,
Jools

Hi Jools,
You are the second person to suggest A. acsi, but we have posted a lot of more detailed pics over on FaceBook and the brain trust has been stumped. It is a very neat little fish though.

It'd be interesting to understand the detail behind that. IIRC there is also an undescribed species from that genus too.

Almost all the cory cats are on sale in the stock shop this weekend. Please take a look. I have a lot of fish in stock right now. Sales run from Thursdays to the following Wednesday, and then they change, so you have a few days left until the cories go back to the regular price. Lots of interesting C & CW number fish, and some 'standards':
Customers who sign in with an account on the stock shop get a bigger discount, so it is worth registering, even if you are just looking.
Here is a 5% discount code for PlanetCatfish.com users. This discount is in addition to any other discounts on the website, and I will be sending PlanetCatfish 5% of all sales that are generated with this code. The code will change monthly. There are no limitations on the number of time it can be used, or the number of times you can use it. Please support PC!
No new fish this week, but there are still a lot of cool catfish available. I am off to Peru on August 4 for nine days. Do a little collecting. Do a lot of buying. Tank space around here will be at a premium when the shipment from this trip arrives at the end of August. Please help me clear some glass, and help PC at the same time.
What is new is the new gel food of my own design that is made for me by Repashy Superfoods. I am calling the Ted's Most Excellent, and it has tested very well, especially for catfish. Here is a link to my blog post about the food, which includes a video. You can see the ingredients and nutritional analysis in the Stock Shop. http://tedsfishroom.com/2015/07/24/intr ... -gel-food/
Just a quick note to say that I am very grateful to Ted for the sponsorship - every cent of it that reaches me will go direct to the sites (considerable) hosting costs.
Cheers!
Jools

Now I've had a good look at those pics, it looks like a brown
. Certainly the large head, short body and especially the humeral process are a good match - the ID is just thrown off by the colouration. However, it seems the colouration is quite variable, so having one that's a bit browner than normal seems good enough an ID for now.

Jools

I am quite pleased with the new gel food. It got my cw10s to spawn where black worms did not.

Most of the cory cats are on sale this week, hoping to clear some space for a new Peru order coming August 26. This is the order placed while I was there, and there are going to be some interesting catfish coming up in it. 5% off all invoices for using the PlanetCatfish code:
YMAAR2HY
An additional 5% will be donated to PlanetCatfish.com So far, since we started this, we have generated $2.25... every little bit helps.
A have a shot at some Cephalosilurus apurensis on my next Colombia order (middle of September). Not sure of the cost yet. Is anyone interested in this species? Not something I want to house and feed if there is no interest.

Hey Ted! I'm on the market for these as well as fowleri and nigricaudus but prices and sizes are decision-makers to me. Sorry, not helpful, I realize.

Not sure what the price will be (have not heard back from the collector). Once I know what they want I should be able to ballpark the price, but overhead changes from order to order, and I never know the final until the fish are tanked.

Understood. If it helps, I've paid before for the apurensis $50-$80 for ~3"-5", $100-$125 for ~9"-12". The same for nigricaudus. IME these are quite often confused with each other. In fact, IDK how to tell them apart, esp. as fingerlings and juveniles. It looks like a gamble - I never know which one I will be getting when I buy them. Fowleri looks more distinctive but I've never come across one.
So if you get the smaller ones and will sell at the lower price, I can consider it.
Your two bolts are doing well so far:

I received a new order from Peru. Lots of catfish on this one:
I also have another order coming in from Below Water (Oliver Lucanus) later this week. The catfish highlights should be:
Synodontis brichardi
Synodontis longirostris
Lophiosilurus alexandri
Chanallabes apus
Chrysichthys ornatus
Ted definitely interested in the Synodontis longirostris, any idea of size by any chance? thanks

I don't know if it's just me, but I can't view your video, Ted. I receive the error message, "An error occurred. Please try again later" when I click on the link. Let's see if this helps:

Hello Everyone... sorry about the lack of posting . Busy busy...
The Cataclysm event two weeks ago went very well. A lot of catfish went through the rare fish auctions. Great speakers. Lots of fun. We will start planning Cataclysm 2017 very soon.
The stock shop has fewer catfish than before Cataclysm, but there is still plenty there. I also just received some now stock in the run up to the next big event, Aquatic Experience, that starts this coming Friday (www.aquaticexperience.org). The show is in Schaumburg, IL, and runs from Friday afternoon through Sunday. I will be there with a booth, some display tanks and all the Repashy, Ted's Most Excellent and Paradigm foods for sale. I will not be bringing a fish to sell from the booth, other than the fish in the display tanks (which can be purchased then picked up on Sunday). I will bring pre-orders for pick up. Place an order through the Stock Shop, choose the 'pick up' shipping option, and leave a note with the order to bring the fish to the show. Please note that all fish will be packed on Thursday morning, so please plan to get the fish on Friday if you can.
Don't forget to use the PlanetCatfish.com discount code: YMAAR2HY Save some money. Support PlanetCatfish!
BTW, the corydoras sterbai that I bought from you last month are doing great and very happy - I have 9 in total now and they are my husband's favorite - ty! and for anyone on the fence about ordering, I highly recommend Ted ^.^ he also checked in to see if they arrived and if all went well.
