HELLO THANKS FOR LOOKING, CAN ANYONE CONFIRM THE ID OF THIS FISH PICTURED? IS IT A CHAMELEON WHIPTAIL OR CHAMELEON WHIPTAIL MARBLED SP?

You have the
, as the head shape is rounded rather than triangular. I wrote a few articles on these (take a look at the cat-elog page for the Catfish of the Month).
Enjoy them, they are nice fish. Easy to breed. Buy more if you can.
Please try not to write in ALL CAPS, or to double post.

No worries. It happens

Not sure I understand. What is random about the picture? This is a picture of the specific fish you are interested in buying? Or you just want to know about how to tell the two species apart?

Not sure what you mean here either. What is your aim exactly? You wish to deliberately create interspecific hybrids?

right, sorry, made a right mess of that post.
my aim is to gain a breeding group, dont want any cross breeding or anything. by "random picture" its a picture i found on the internet and this one seems pretty similar to both varieties, just the speckled cheeks separate them to my relatively untrained eye.

Yes, the "speckled cheeks" combined with a brownish base colour and a more rounded head shape indicate that it is the marbled species.
