A. Rio Ucayali, A. hoplogenys or something else

Post by safrane »

Hi,

I need some help with the identification of my new Ancistrus. I think Ancistrus sp. Rio Ucayali or Ancistrus hoplogenys. But maybe there are some experts who kept those species and can tell me what it is. The little guy is just 4.5 cm right now.

Hi,

that likely is Ancistrus sp. "Rio Ucayali", definitely no A. hoplogenys (markings in the fins are wrong, base color is off, "net" markings on the head are not present in A. hoplogenys).

Cheers,
Sandor
