I love [Wood] Sheep people (or Goat/Ram people! I've always said Sheep. But they're all similar enough to be the same sign.) Perhaps that's because I'm a Fire Rabbit--with a Dragon ascendant, and a Sheep-ruled month! Actually, there are people who call the Rabbit/Hare the Year of the Cat instead, and I kinda do feel more catlike than rabbitlike. I like 'em both, though (but would definitely never eat any of the above, lol.)
Anyways, happy Lunar New Year. ^^

Having eaten lamb and goat, I prefer the meal of the sheep to the meal of the goat. And every one is the year of the dinner
It's 2015. According to Chinese astrology, it's the year of the 未, which can be interpreted as either sheep, goat or ram. "Sheep" – the thing that goes baaah and is frequently barbecued in South Africa – is written as 羊 in Japanese, but the year of the sheep is written as 未.
Confused?
The Chinese sign includes all similar animals (sheep, goats and antelopes), all called yáng and usually divided into two types: miányáng (sheep) and shānyáng (goats). Japanese also separates these animals into sheep (羊 hitsuji) and goats (山羊 yagi), but the year itself? That's written with the Chinese symbol and called the year of the sheep.

Another new year? I just got in the habit of writing "year of the horse" on my checks! Dang it. This happens every year.
JK. Happy New Year everyone.

Is it the year of the Goat or the year of the Sheep? I'm an earth snake.

Both...and more as they also have month/day/hour animals!
Confucius (551-479BCE) said "I'm confused by the whole thing!"
