I would like to confirm the identification since to me it doesn't match up to the pictures just right. Would also like to confirm this is male as it was sold to me as? The confusing part is I've seen xingu mostly associated with L027. This fish has been a favorite of mine and I'd perhaps like to add a female. current is 120gallon tank shared with a bunch of clown loaches. I added in some colorfull Betta fish to fill in the top side. but it's all about bottom dwellers to me =).

I'm going to link this since I believe the pictures will be too large for some to load.

Some rather quirky URL manipulation at the "lookpic" site means you have to copy the URL into your browsers address bar and view it that way.

Looks like which is not from the Rio Xingu or indeed Brazil.

Agree with Jools. This fish came from Colombia not Brazil.

I would also say that if you have owned it 4 years and it isn't being heavily dominated in your tank, it's probably a female. Warm it up and feed it well and you should notice it becoming more gravid. The odontodal growth is very light for a maturing male.
