Managed to procure one of these magnificent specimens at the weekend.

Very similar in appearance to Hemibagrus wyckloides but paler / greenish tint with a few black spots & white edges to Caudal & pectoral fins. Small filaments to Dorsal & tail just starting to show
Bagrus bajad has the black spots as juveniles, filamentosus and docmac do not I believe...also the adipose will show what it is...I will have a quick look into this to say for sure.
Okay, I am sure this is a Bagrus bajad juvenile. I recently did an ID for another lakeside wildcaught juvenile and adult but I need permission yet to use those for the Cat-eLog ...the adult was unmistakable, that juvenile fish looked identical to yours and the only choices in that case were bajad and docmac because the distribution for filamentosus is limited and was totally off for that one...as far as being docmac, juvenile docmac are very dark usually...and only occasionally with brown spotting.
I am sure Bens pictures are bajad as well that are in docmac...there is also the high back and tall adipose fin that gives it away...photo 8 in docmac shows how the docmac adipose fin should look, very different.

Very difficult to determine because I cannot find any or very little info on Filamentous & some of the images for Docmak look like different species/ different adipose fin.
Still a rare fishy either way I guess...........alas one that's going to grow a helluva lot bigger than previously researched
I just translated descriptions from Les-Poissons Des Hauts-Bassins De La Volta and I have no doubt I am on the right track as bajad on this one(well maybe I am at 95 %).
Yes, I mentioned the photos in docmak are off...I need to spend time on them...I think I now have it figured out though.
