I bought that mysterious and interesting fish as a Cetopsis but it's a Denticetopsis.
Now my question.
Is it Denticetopsis praecox or Denticetopsis seducta ?

This looks like a young
Pangasius krempfi. Not 100% sure as I have not encountered individuals of this species this small.

Hi,
the Denticetopsis looks like D. seducta to me, but only because I keep a group of that species as well and they look exactly the same. If you know the origin it would be easy to tell. D. seducta showed up a few times during the last months, praecox didnt.
cheers, Daniel

They are very similar to each other, and therefore wants to know on the basis of morphological features, which have been described scientifically.
Unfortunately, I do not know the origin.

Chaca burmensis resembles C. chaca more than it does the fish in the photo. Both C. burmensis and C. chaca are generally darker in color, and possess more fleshy projections than the fish in your photo (although it is admittedly difficult to discern this feature with any clarity from your photo).
