I have been looking for Corydoras lamberti for several years. An importer has sent two photos and I have circled what could be them. My questioin is are they close enough to take a chance getting the fish.

Depends on how much per fish, and minimum order, and how much to ship. Additional considerations, do you have a track record with the importer, and do you have collection point information.

They are in with Blochi Blochi corys and he is getting 6 for $24. I did not ask where they were collected but I read that Lamberti are found in the same area as the Blochi Blochi. He has a very good reputation, and many I have contact with, buy from him.

All the best,
Dick

I would then. Even if it turns out to be something else it is still a good looking Cory.

The ones on the picture (not circeled) are not blochi blochi, but C102 or another "leopardus"-looking fish.

The ones circeled (at least one of them , the other one turns the back towards us, so difficult to tell) is not C. lamberti, but some agassizii-looking fish.

This is one of Hans evers' pictures of C. lamberti collected in Peru:

Note the dorsal-fin blotch that is missing in at least one of the circeled fish.

Thanks to all. Maybe I will get lucky.

Kim I noticed that but am hoping the other may be. I asked the importer to keep an eye out for me but am getting some of the corys when I get my altums.

I found a photo of an adult Cory cf Lamberti. Neil Woodward from Brazil Says that "Corydoras lamberti are very hard to get it is only available to collect in the flood season on Rio Nanay in Peru . I can get it but last time I offered them the cost would have been approx. £160 per pc ." At that price I will never be able to have them!!!

Hi,

to be more precise it's Rio Momon.
By the way, do you have the permission to use the picture of Hans ?

Cheers,
