Even a genus would be helpful.
Caught in the Amazon at Iquitos Peru.

Thanks for the link but I don't think that is what it is. It has a fairly deeply forked tail, much more so than the one you linked to.

I agree with Silurus. It merely looks like the fish's tail in the pic is folded up.
BTW, have you looked through the Cat-elog photos
http://www.planetcatfish.com/common/spe ... ies_id=336 that Silurus linked for you? Forked tail is shown clearly on several pics at least.

Yup, agree with Silurus & Viktor. It looks just like the ones I caught when in Iquitos. It is unusual to catch them in perfect condition; they often have bits of fin missing.
