Awesome fish. If you don't mind this going a little off topic, how did you catch it?

No problem at all, I collected these specimens by kick seining. A few largish Schizothorax were surprise bycatches along with a mix of loaches,Garra and Barilius. The Pseudecheneis were all collected from riffles. I will post a video of the habitat soon.

Thanks HH. Is there anyway to differentiate (externally) eddsi from crassicauda and serracula???

serracula would have a much larger adipose fin, while crassicauda would have a much thicker caudal peduncle.

Pseudecheneis sulcata did enter the trade recently, a few specimens might have entered the US if not for an extreme summer in north India.

Thanks HH, one of the specimens collected didn't seem to have any markings but unfortunately, it fell back into the river. I will be visiting the place quite often now (80 kms).

Surprisingly, this specimen was collected from a slow moving river with ONLY silt for substrate.

I thought P. serracula has a larger adipose fin.

Do you think crassicauda is a more plausible option or is it just eddsi???

I'd say eddsi is more likely.
