This fish is about 6 inches. The shop keeper said he did not know if it was L282 or not.

Any help much appreciated!

Thanks

Interesting specimen! It does not follow the typical L282 but not sure where to place it. Can you get more photos including from above?

Can you get any extra info from the shop keeper? Was it a trade in or part of an order? My instinct is it is a Pseuda cross. They have been showing up over your way and even a couple in Australia last year. I will dig up my notes as I have been trying to keep records of anything interesting or odd.

It would be nice to trace it back to the Amazon so collectors could look for them.
Thanks for the extra photos.

It came in part of an order. Not sure if any help, but the shop received on the same day L273 red form, L25, L97 and Corydoras robustus...

I think it is a colour mutation of L 97, the pattern reminds me of some individuals of Leporacanthicus we know from Venezuela which are spotted normally as well. I'd buy it and breed it with a L 97 from the same shipment.

I thought was a phantom L-number. Only a single specimen was imported, and no other has ever been reported from Venezuela.

A case of a mixed-up import, including what is most probably .

You're right, it is. Most likely L 282 is the same like one of the L 97 forms. Unfortunately some shops still sell so called L 282 for crazy prices, and that way they keep the phantom alive. If the specimen came in the same shipment with L 97, it is one itself.
