Ageneiosus Magoi finally

Getting a pair of these bad boys 4" in a couple weeks gonna go into a 75 gallon which is bare right now but has been running for about 8 months with diy 50g sump (mag 9.5 pump) been using it to hold shiners/suckers for fishing/feeding. Ph is around 7.0 was running no heater but since I have these guys coming I got one its at 78F. I was hoping to set-up a biotope for them since they are wild caught and I'm hoping to breed them (at least try). Looking for suggestions on plants and substrate, or anything else. Thanks

Based on where I collected these fish in the wild, I'd suggest a dark substrate, no plants or rocks and some root-like wood around the edges. pH 6; 78F is OK. I don't know what dimensions a 75 gallon is but the thing you're aiming for is lots of swimming space (the whole tank should be open) with resting/hiding places around the edges.

Thanks for the info I got some black sand laying around that I'll use. Footprint is 48"x18".
