Sorry, me again. I'm upgrading my Petricola tank to a 180 litre.
I have a group of 8 w/c adults, i am attempting to breed them, if it happens great, if not i don't mind, i just love keeping these fish.
Anyway, before i rush into transferring them into their new home i want to make sure i set it up as best i can to keep these fish happy.
My current tanks are all at PH of 7.6, this should ideally be a little higher? (they seem to be thriving currently, so should i look to up it?)
What would be the best substrate? Plants? Plenty of rocks and hiding places of course, any advice on this?
All advice welcome,
Their current set up is kept at ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate under 5ppm.
I think hardness and PH are maybe the areas i need to look at, so could do with some pointers on that.
Cheers,
Dave.

Re: Perfect Petricola Set-up
If you have an external filter you could try adding some coral gravel or crushed limestone in to one of the trays this would help with your water though I dare they would adapt to PH 7.6, what are your GH and KH readings ?
I find play sand works fine as a substrate just make sure any rocks have a solid base to rest on, plants are down to personal taste but Java fern ( Microsorum pteropus ) and most Anubias would work well, just remember not to plant the roots and instead attach them to your rocks.
Hope this helps.
