L-25 trio, sex these please!

Post by AaltoM »

They are 20-25cm long, little thin (recently imported).
Can you help me?

Interesting; the ventral fins appear to be different. Two of the fish have more "blunt/rounded" fins, and the other one has a more "pointed" fin. Would this be a helpful diagnostic? It appears that for L114, the female has a more blunted ventral fin:

But based on the body width, these appear to be all male. (Or all too small/immature to tell)

Hi,
that fish with pointed/larger ventral has also pointed/larger pectoral fins and all the other fins are also a lot bigger even he/she isn't.
He/she is also more colorful and has longest head compared to body.

Unfortunately fin shapes does not work for L25s. As pointed out color is not a good test of sex. There are differences between the three but it could be because they are thin.

It will take a few months of good feeding to provide a positive answer.

Hello!

Thanks for replies!
Here is very bad photo of the head shape of the largest two...
Lower fish is little bigger, but head is shorter.

I would listen to Jims suggestions! Give them a few weeks and there will be huge differences.
