Tank raised Hypancistrus and Ancistrus for sale, ship in US

Alright, I've been threatening to do this for a bit now, but I guess now is the time. I will only ship out on Monday or Tuesday without previous arrangments, and will ship express mail only (unless the USPS says you are within 2 days of 99205 Priority). I prefer shipping with Southwest Airlines, if they fly near you, and will give incentives to make that happen. I can be a little slow to answer, as I also have a retail fish shop (separate from the plecos I raise) and the people standing there with money in their hand tend to take priority ;).
With that noted, if you are looking for something besides plecos, let me know and I can often times add other fish to fill the order nicely. I do have a $100 minimum order. All a bunch of qualifiers, but I have about 30 references from happy customers that I can provide, if needed ;).
Ancistrus sp. "Rio Tocantins" 1" @ $20 (these fish stay quite small, males 2" SL max and females 2.5", with a very clear network pattern to them)
Ancistrus sp. "L180" 1.5" @ $10 (a slightly plainer cousin to the L183 starry night bristlenose, but still quite stunning and much more affordable)
Ancistrus sp. "L184/LDA03" 2.5" @ $50 (a jet black with big white spot Ancistrus that gets 4.5" SL, VERY striking)
Breeding trios Albino bristlenose $50
Longfin Albino bristlenose 2" @ $15 (you can see a picture of their father in the CateLog, he is impressive and these are nice big fry)
Super red Ancistrus fry 1.5" @ $15 (These are very clean, red, and much larger than you usually see available)
Super Red/Calico SF Fry 2" $10 (these are the by product of the working on a longfin super red, way more red than any other calicos I've seen)
Hypancistrus sp. "queen arabesque" L260 @ 2" @ $50 (these are super healthy fry, 8 available)
Hypancistrus sp. "L262 fine spot" @ $35 1.5" (again, few available, very nice fish)
Hypancistrus sp. "L400" @ $30 1.5" (Super crisp coloration, again, I think only 10 available)
If you are interested, and all of the stipulations above didn't scare you, feel free to message me on the board and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks!

I am toying with the idea of the 184s. are they sexable at that size? Any reason they couldn't be housed with 4 inch L200 hifins?

The females grow bristles on the lip edge, also, so I'm really not sure about sexing them at that size. It's not readily apparent anyway. The ones I have right now, you are more apt to get all females than all males, and if that would happen I will pull one of my "spare" breeder males that I've held back for myself. I am just now working with getting the F1s to spawn (one spawn so far). The original male has been blind for 3 or 4 years from a pH crash in trying to push the pH down. He is inhabiting a cave again, so I will soon have both F1 and F2 available. I'm hoping that the F2 will be a little more forgiving in their need for acidic conditions.

do the Ancistrus sp. "Rio Tocantins" do ok in tap water, or do they need soft water like the l183'S?

They are raised and spawn in my plain old tap water, 7.8 pH, 140ppm hardness, 3 degrees kH. 80 degrees. Small spawns of 15-20 fry, but very distinctive pattern right away.

Hi Barbie the more I think about the timing for me to pick some new plecos isn't great. Will you be offering 184 again in the future or is this a more of a one time deal? I will want five of them (and female heavy sounds great as long as there is male) just now isn't the best time. Ideally in four months or so. Also just curious what generations are the ones you are selling.

The ones I am selling are F1. I do not have any fry coming up at the moment, but the F1's should be spawning (and now there's noone in their tank to eat them!) again soon.

I just want to say that I purchased five L184's from Barbie at the catfish convention. They are beautiful fish, hopefully I will be able to spawn them now. As a side note, I have a special feeling for them as they made it through Hurricane Sandy.

Thank you Mark . Soft warm water is all they really require!
I do not have a picture of the super reds, I don't think. I'll check and see what I can come up with! Or take a picture when I'm at the shop tomorrow ;).

Just wanted to let everyone know I ordered a group of L184s and L260s from Barbie. They were shipped really well and arrived in great shape. Plus the L260s were significantly bigger then advertised! Thanks for the great fish

Thank you . I'm glad you were happy with my babies! L260 and L184 were both fish that I focused on getting and learning to work with. You managed to order some of my favorites! I hope your car has managed to recover .

Barbie, I'll take 6 of the L400 when we come back through Spokane on our way back to Edmonton on July 5. I'm expecting that we'll be there sometime between 12:00 and 1:00. I'm thinking that the 6 Rio Tocantins and the 6 L400 should fit fine into that small styro I dropped off with your fish in it. Thanks, Paul

I tried to take one with my cell phone but it wasn't worth sharing. I will be at the shop today, so if I'm not slammed, I will take a picture or two of them also.

For those wondering, I just received some super reds from Barbie yesterday, and they are fabulous. Super healthy and spunky. They are settling in nicely and eating great, so if this is your first time considering a purchase from her, proceed with confidence
Also- Southwest cargo, where available, is a great way to receive fish. Waaaaay better to make the short drive to your cargo office, then have your fish sitting around in trucks and sorting facilities.

Thank you . Southwest is inconvenient for people to drive to, I know, but the fish just handle it SO much better! I hope you enjoy the new babies. They should spawn for you in short order! The male was advertising at the door of a cave he couldn't possibly have trapped anyone in. He's quite the optimist!

I do have a couple adult pairs of L180 that I would probably sell. I have adult Super red pairs, and some adult albino longfins I could pair up, also. Send me a pm or mail me at (bristlenose genus) at gmail.com for particulars.
