Strictly speaking, the is , but people tend to call these things whatever they feel like, or whatever they think they will command a better price as.

Your fish is too young to confidently ID, unfortunately, but I can't see a reason why it's not . Perhaps people on the forum who have bred these can offer a more informed opinion?

Hope this helps.

Definitely a Hypan but a little too young to determine what type.

No, he's saying it is a species in the genus but the specimen is too young to determine which species of Hypancistrus. Young (aka King Tiger) have a pattern that looks a lot like that of . To my eye the length of the tail fin points more towards L066 but I am no expert on so don't take my word for it.

Did you get this fish at the Green Water Swap on Sunday?

If so I believe the dealer was selling them as L 66. However when young many Hypancistrus look alike and it can be hard to tell the difference between L66, L333, and Hypancistrus debilittera.

Could be a L333, but my L66 look really yellow at that age too. When it gets bigger you'll know for sure.

i would agree that its not L-66, in L-66 the white and black bars are pretty equal in young fish your fish the black is more prominent

young L-66

I still think it's one of the Colombian fishes. L129, L270 or L340.

They are quite hard to separate unless you know where it was caught.
