i am thinking of setting up a tank with a juwel plastic background

i read that plastic plants can kill royal panaques.

is this the same case with Juwel 3d plastic backgrounds?

or is it safe?

My theory is, they will rasp wood and food more so than a plastic wall.
i dont want them eating the plastic and or making holes on it of course.

They'll slowly strip off the paint and maybe even eat through it.
They destroyed all the fiber glass turtle docks and floating logs we had in one if the tank with them.

You can try it but IME it doesn't last.

I strongly suspect that over time the royals will gnaw away at the background as they are constantly grazing.

My synos chew off little pieces of my jewel background tiles while rasping off algae http://www.charterhouse-aquatics.co.uk/ ... 67fd05b48c so royal would probably be more destructive
