Nice job. Glad to see these guys are still in the US. It is interesting the reverse trio worked, that has not been my experience with the larger pseudas. Notes taken!
I have been trying to find some for the past year with no success.

Clutch size about 40. Good news, new batch of eggs this afternoon...i was able to watch the entire spawning, and filmed bits of it (through an algae covered tank, however).

I didn't intentionally try the reverse trio, I actually thought there were 3 males alone in the tank! (i took them out from what I thought were the most likely breeders, which i still have, and still haven't spawned, of course)

Can you provide an update on the fry? Photos would also be nice.

Sure!
Babies were kept in a hanging box, ate food readily (one carnivore pellet a night).
Here is a pic fresh out of the cave.

I'll have to take more pics of the 3 month old babies, now about an inch long. Gorgeous.
I did have trouble keeping these babies alive. I would lose approximately one each night, due to no obvious cause....very frustrating. I think I have about a dozen left, from about 40 to begin with...
They adults have spawned once more, but dad left the cave about 5 days in....no eggs visible, so either they were eaten or not viable. They have tried to spawn once more, but no luck and the female got pretty beaten up...thought she wouldnt make it, but she has. I have another pair in a separate tank that have never spawned, but the female is clearly ripe and interested....

Well, I am not nearly as good a photographer as Jim, but here is one of my L-65 at about 3 months of age, near 2 inches (look at the mesh size of the net). The spots are not as yellow as they appear in this pic...they really just look white. I'll try some more later...

It is a wonderfully clear picture of a very nice fat baby! Congrats again!

Did you happen to examine any of your fry corpses under a microscope? I had an issue with chilodonella at one point that mimicked that exact style of losses. Oodinium was a culprit another time with my zebras. Adults were healthy and happy, fry never showed any external symptoms, but would just not thrive. Sacrificing one was definitely to the good of the others.
