Two Zebra Plecos in one cave

There were 2 of my zebra plecos in a cave yesterday, after i changed alot of cold water, like 70%.
I'm pretty sure it was a male and a female, as they didnt fight or anything,
they were just on top of each other, but nothing happened because there was no eggs this morning.

Do you think they are just practicing or what are they doing?
They are around 6,5(female)7,5(male)cm.

Ok, maybe they just aren't ready yet then.
At witch cm do they usually get mature?

I have male who comes mature after 5 years (8-8,5cm)
And two weeks ago, one of my males spawned in age 2,5 years (6cm).
So you never know...

Now they are back together in the cave

They may "practice" for weeks or even months. I had a pair that cohabitated most of the time for 6 months before I found a fry roaming around in the tank. I had given up on checking on them, but they did finally figure it out!

Next time they breed, do i need to change cold water like i did this time, or will they just continue without a trigger?

I think you do not need massive water changes anymore and they will spawn again.

Btw they have hatched now, but the male kicked one of them out, so I'll put it in a fry saver

They have grown to 3 cm the biggest ones, and I have had another spawn at the end of last month
