Please help!!
Hello everyone. So three months ago I bought a few of what they call german red plecos...I introduced them into my tank, and about a month ago, I notice something moving inside the stomach of one. I figure internal parasite so I tried metronidazole and piperzine, still have something moving inside of its stomach...now I look at all of the plecos in my tank now, and they all have the same symtoms....is this normal? Has anyone experience this before? Its killing me because I should of quarintine them first...now if its a parasite, they might have contaminated my other red plecos.... any suggessions on what to do?

Now that is not all. I have seperated them all back into their own tank... and notice the male is not red anymore, he is pail peachy color and you can almost see the outline of his scales to the point where it looks like a skeleton... I have looked online for several week and have not found an answer. I just hope this video can help anyone help these pleco stay alive.... What a bummer..Please help!

Never heard of anything like that before. You could try Prazaquil or fenbendazole as they are very good. Flubendazole can just be added to your water as yet another option.
Read and follow directions. Fenbedazole is used in dogs but works well in fish and humans. To use it, I dilute in water then add to tank. You may need to use a dash of alcohol for solubility. I add a pinch at a time up to a maximum of 2g per 10 gallon (380L). It will kill inverts so make sure you have no shrimp, etc.

Re: Please help!!
One possiblity is worms. Praziquantel, IME and IMO, is an excellent, safe, universal de-wormer. I've read that something like camallanus worms, however, respond to fenbendazole but these are usually visible brush-like red things hanging out of the fish's anus.

Re: Please help!!
This sounds very familiar to what happened to my tank. I got infected with callimanus worms. After a lot of searching and a few failed treatments I found a treatment called Chanaverm. This is for pigeons but is also used to treat these worms. The treatment is nearly as bad as the worms though.
If it is these they are bloody nasty. I spotted mine as they were hanging from the plecos vents.
I lost all but two fish.
I was told when it was diagnosed that expect a full wipeout if any survive its a bonus.
I hope it's not what you have but if so give Chanaverm ago It was all I could find to get rid of them.
Good luck.
