How big is it? It looks small & for a small fish the bristles are developing early & suggest a male. This will be confirmed as the fish matures & bristles go 'up the face' not just on the periphery of the mouth. Your fish is an albino common & none of my mature females have that amount of bristles.

Or you could net him and touch his nose. If it feels squishy just below his eyes, it's a male. Sandpaper, female. I think it's from a sexing them article that Mats did, here on the site, but either way, it does work most of the time.

Definately too small still. my males are close to 4 1/2" without their tail. I got a couple about the 2" mark that I cant tell what are they yet so yeah just give it some more time.

I've had bristlenose spawn at 2.5" TL. Not too small.
