Unscrupulous aquabid seller

by apistomaster
A seller, Djarvis7622 (55/61) 51-100
machesney park IL 61115 United States
Is using a photo of mine without my permission to represent his fish.
It has happened to me before.
I would appreciate it if my friends would take some time to send him a message to let him know how you feel about this kind of behavior.
Nate (NVCichlids from PC) brought this to my attention.
It can be difficult to link directly to it so if you need to, try searching for the auction number contained in the line below.

Home > All Categories > Plecostomus > Auction # 1349864572

I appreciate all the pressure that can be applied because aquabid does not do a good job of following up on complaints and I have contacted both aquabid and this seller but it may take more than that to make him use photos of his own fish.
Nate asked for photos of his fish but the seller could not or would not provide any.

Message sent to seller. It is too bad that Aquabid is not more explicit about having rights to the photos that sellers post.

I don't see auction # 1349864572 listed on aquabid anymore. Perhaps either the seller or aquabid removed it?

I'm glad you like your little joke.

Nevertheless, taken from the forum rules:
CAPITALIZATION
CAPITALIZING YOUR POST, SUBJECT, OR EVEN JUST WORDS IS CONSIDERED YELLING. JUST AS IT IS IN REAL LIFE, YELLING IS RUDE, UNLESS CALLED FOR. PLEASE REFRAIN FROM DOING THIS UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. ISN'T EVEN JUST READING THIS ANNOYING?

Yes it is.

Yep I find it funny. Maybe you need to find a sense of humor. Like I said before the cap lock was on and I did not feel like re writing it

Yes well we all know this when writing on the Internet this is common knowledge. No one complained but you . You must have a pitiful life because all I see you do is complain.

BTW would you like a little cheese with your wine ?????

As you know absolutely nothing about my life, you're certainly not the person to say anything about it.
When looking at your postings - which is not too hard, just 47 - I see someone with a pityful hobby. Keeping deformed and pop-eyed Ancistrus and start whining when people tell you the truth about these sorry creatures. I also see a big mouth who comes from the "great nation" that "gave the world freedom of speech".
How about that for humour?

That is really quite rude. I'd prefer if you weren't so adversarial if you don't mind - we try try to be a friendly bunch here.

I'm sure more people didn't complain about the ALL CAPS because they didn't want to contribute to dragging this thread OT. I read Marc's first reply to this thread, smiled, and agreed with him. Vinman, I have a suggestion, instead of admitting to being lazy and being adversarial with one of the regulars here, why not go back and edit your original ALL CAPS reply? As it is, you are not representing Da Bronx all that well.

I explained it, if I change now it will not make a difference. Everyone knows I was not yelling at anyone. At least if anyone is reading the thread it will make sense. I only represent myself, I would say that for everyone on here. As I would take it you don't represent your whole neighborhood or state. I'm sure you have many different people where you live with different attitudes and different beliefs. If the mods or admin want me to change I will have no problem doing so. Please lets not make a big deal over nothing. If anything on this thread needs to be changed it is the cursing that Marc posted. You do know kids do read these forums, not only adults. I'm sure lude words are also aginest the rules. I would think that is a lot more important than writing in caps.

no problem Jools I had not idea that program was installed on here I will change it for you. you might want to have Marc change his explanion of the rules being it is in all caps and like you said you do have members using screen readers. Like the old saying goes 2 wrongs don't make a right

Jools

Jools you may want to edit Marc's post where he is using vulgar language. I'm sure cursing and name calling is against the rules. It does not put the forum in good light. You do know kids read through the forums too

Vinman seriously, do you think this attitude is helping your cause? Jools is perfectly capable of (and is actually the only deciding factor) determining which posts need edited or locked and why. You broke a forum rule and when it was pointed out you escalated a correction to a full out name calling slinging match. Stop it. Behave yourself. This is not a playground. Please have the decency to behave like an adult guest, or get mad and take your balls and stomp off. Whatever it takes, but this needs to stop.

Marc, on a side note, you really should be above calling names. If he wants to act like one, everyone reading the thread will have the ability to reach that conclusion. I have the right to be proud of the country I live in, without someone with a skewed perception of what that entails throwing rocks indiscriminately about it. I've never been anything but decent to you, no matter where you were born. Please treat me with the same level of courtesy you both expect and have received from myself and many other US forum members.

This is a site Jools puts a ridiculous amount of work into making a great place to talk about fish we all love. Please. Everyone, take a moment and decide if this is really the time and place to get your undies in a wad.

Good luck on your quest to get your pictures removed Larry. Hopefully everyone can stay on topic from here on out!

Vinman,

You have been here long enough to know Marc is a moderator. The kids would have learned a lot from you realizing you made a teeny tiny mistake and quickly correcting it. Now they will earn how to be aggressive, derisive, and insulting to an authority who pointed out your wrong in nothing more than a polite way, twice. So, if you cared so much about others, you'd know what to do now.

Although Marc has lost his temper, I agree with you, I think his post needs a change too. Still, you are 99% responsible IMO.

When I wrong I will admit it. I have no problem with being wrong. Did not know Marc was a mod. I don't come on here a lot. I did not see his name in another color. That was my bad.

All I did was explain why it was in caps and made a funny coment about it. If you see my reply I put 3 laughing faces so any of the members would know I was being funny and not sarcastic. The next reply by Marc could have been Expample ( too funny can you please change it because it is agenist the rules ) and I would have done that and that would have been the end of it. A matter of fact his first reply was sarcastic and if he would have asked me nicely and I would have changed whitout any problems.

Being a mod is to have the knowledge on how to diffuse a argument or to prevent one from happening and not to feed one. Also I'm glad you agree that 2 wrongs don't make a right. If you look at the way Jools asked me to change my post and the reason why, you see it changed right away. Not because he is the owner, it is how he asked me . That gets peoples respect. if your going to be a Mod then you should know how to be diplomatic and follow the rules you are supposed to be enforcing. With that all being said sorry all members and staff on the way this all went down the way it did.

V: When I wrong I will admit it. I have no problem with being wrong. Did not know Marc was a mod. I don't come on here a lot. I did not see his name in another color. That was my bad.
VJ: I agree that is your bad. In your part defense, not once I have found myself wondering how would new/rare visitors/members know who the mods are. It is not signified in a way that it should be, IMO, but I also know everything Jools does is thought-through and for a good reason, so maybe he will explain.

V: All I did was explain why it was in caps and made a funny coment about it. If you see my reply I put 3 laughing faces so any of the members would know I was being funny and not sarcastic. VJ: Perhaps Marc has not handled his first two posts perfectly, true, but he was what I'd consider well within the boundaries of politeness and authoritiveness. Blaming him in those two posts would be splitting hairs, compared how you took it up 100 notches, Vinman.

VJ: That's well put, except I'd like to see you write up a paragraph on "being a forum member" and their responsibilities.

Overall, I am thrilled we are getting on the same page here. As your signature lines goes, Vinman: "Peace, Brother!". Brothers may rough up each other but they always shake hands after.

Please, don't think I am preaching from a high chair. I am just another member. No. I am less. I think I am the only member for whom a thread was started to teach him to be a forum goer.

Back to topic, apistomaster, has there been any more news?

I think, and not sure if the auction is still up, but didn't Wetspot use PC's image of the eel-tailed banjo cat, only removed the watermark and 180*d the image?

I haven't been to aquabid in a few days, but the auction, and pic, was for L333. I don't have much to add other than having just recognized the pic.

he hasn't relised the 333's. I would say that all of his pictures are stolen due to the fact the quality is not the same in every picture. I was hoping that Larry had moved to Illinois so I could stop down and visit sometime (rather than being on opposite sides of the country).

BTW, I think his current auction for the green dragon BN is stolen from a previous auction, as I have seen that picture before on AB too!
