I was fortunate to spend some time with Birger in 2009 and got to see the fishes he kept very well in his house. Despite battling serious illness, Birger always had something nice to say about a fish and very little bad to say about fishkeepers.
This is very sad news.

Sad news indeed. May he rest in peace.
It also puts this posting

This gets to me...we had the same name and were the same age...too bad I did not get to meet him personally.
He was the only other "Birger" I have ever corresponded with.
Sad news.

I saw something on FB but it didn't really sink in.
Unfortunately i never got to meet him & although i'm not really into Corys, his posts were informative & showed he was an intelligent & dedicated fishkepper - a very sad loss
