Ok everyone. The catfish convention is coming up soon, about seven weeks away. I am looking forward to seeing all of my catfish friends. Who is planning on attending.

Anyone fancy a Planet get together online? I mean, maybe one of the "later in the day, pop-up fishroom" gatherings and get some of us not able to make it up on skype/ipads to join in?

All booked now, I am taking an extra couple days and will be there on monday evening (15th) if anyone else is around.

Birger, you are right. You better handle all aspects of technology on this. I can provide my iPad if needed.

I'll bring my iPad also. It should be something we can make happen! That would help ease the sting of so many that can't make it, definitely! I need to get to work on figuring out what fish I can take to the convention this year, and maybe do a mini benefit silent auction for planet or something. Ohhh, the wheels are turning. Be afraid!

I was thinking about just running the silent auction here on PC and delivery of said items and the auction ending there at the convention. I will ask nicely if they will allow us to do it, of course, but I can't see why it would be an issue.

That time I just put the fish through the auction on Sunday and donated the proceeds to Planet. Last time the auction was very packed but not really much in the way of catfish and it seemed like many of the catfish nerds (meant in the most complimentary fashion possible) spent all of their time up in the rooms talking and dealing and perhaps recovering from overindulgence. (knowing I myself would have no need of said recovery time, of course!)

I get in 6pm Thursday. I wish I was there already, but then I wouldn't have time to make the brownies I'm currently whipping up to bring with ;). Triple chocolate with home made caramel centers!

So, I've been dying of curiousity. How did the convention go? I'm curious to know what cats were sold both in the rooms and at the auction. More specific, was it mainly South American cats or were Asian and African cats well represented?
