Cave recommendation

I have 16" male and 12" female L25s in a 150 gallon tank with 5 XXL pieces of driftwood. What size and shape cave should I get them and where can I get it? Any suggestion on where to place the cave would be much appreciated. Thanks...

I would contact Chuck (screen name stuby) over at PlecoWorld.org. He just made me a beautiful 10" black slate cave for my 9" L240s. He will make any size that you might need, and he is very reasonable in pricing, He is located in Mi. Good luck.

You will want a cave longer than the male and the width of his body and one pectoral ray, and just tall enough he can fit in easily with his dorsal fin down. I have been happy with the caves I received from plecocaves.com (reference their thread with specials here http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/view ... 24&t=34174 ). I have a few caves big enough for my L14 that I purchased from him. Good luck!

I too build caves out of stone. I have sold to people all over Canada & USA & have had people have success breeding with them too, inlcuding L046. I have built xxl caves as well for my 12" plecos & some similar size for others as well. If your interested just send me a PM.
