Infestation
Just my luck pick two Heros Severum randomly and what are the chances Id get a male and female. Now my favorite catfish tank will soon be infested with cichlids Needless to say its a bit cramped now that the breeding severum have cut the tank size virtually in half. My poor White line Pim has been evicted from his cave. What would you do? Population control. Or set up the spare 20 G. for future LFS credit.

Hehe, those dratted cichlids tend to do that when you keep them together. Congratulations! I think whether you separate them and raise them out is going to be strictly up to your preference. I'm pretty sure the catfish will do a good job of wittling down their numbers, as long as Mom and Dad aren't so aggressive they're tearing everyone up in their efforts to keep their children safe.
