Trying to finally sort this out for the Cat-eLog
I am having trouble understanding why Parauchenoglanis monkei is valid over Parauchenoglanis guttatus according to (Ferraris 2007) and thusly Catalog of Fishes and Fishbase...with no explanation that I can see.
All other information that I have points to P. guttatus being valid with P. monkei as a synonym.
Am I missing something??

The Ferraris checklist (just like CoF) is more of a nomenclatural than a taxonomic tool should not be considered authoritative with regards to the latter.
