L191 Sunken Stomach
I got a small 2 1/2" L191 a couple of weeks ago and since i bought it online i wasn't able to look at the fish i was getting. it has a pretty sunken in stomach, but has been eating zucchini and a rasping on wood since introduced to the tank. how long does it take for the stomach to fill in? as far as activity level, it seems normal and the fish doesn't really seem lethargic and everything its been eating is being passed as normal colored poo, not white and stringy. This is my first royal plec and i wouldn't want to lose it. any suggestions?

Re: L191 Sunken Stomach
Good news that it's feeding and the faeces is normal.
You could add some algae wafers as well as what you are already doing, as these are a bit more nutritious than just veg and wood.
What is the temperature? You could stimulate feeding by upping it a bit.

Re: L191 Sunken Stomach
ive been trying kens spirulina wafers as well, but it hasn't figured out they're food. the other plecos and fish eat them up fairly quickly.
my temp is at 80F i don't want to turn it up any further due to the denison barbs in my tank. they don't like high temps

I've found the denisoni barbs to be quite heat tolerant as long as the water is well aerated. As for the Pleco have you considered putting it in a seperate tank until it begins feeding regularly?
