Or maybe some websites to have fish delivered to your door. Has anyone got any recommendations for sites they use?

I've seen some somewhere recent-ish. They don't seem that hard to come by. If i can figure out where, or see any i'll let you know.

ps - lots of places wont recognise them as Tachysurus and will stick with their previous name of Pseudobagrus

... or Tawny dragon cat, the nickname/translation...

In US, I've only read of people seeing them in CA. Doesn't mean the rest of the US LFSs don't have them. Never seen them on the east coast.

@Viktor...

as a temperate(ish) fish it could be classed as an invasive species(?) with US restrictions maybe...?

It's logical but I am not aware of a fed ban on anything but aros and snakeheads. Maybe some one who knows will weigh in... but really, we need to help Sara find them in UK, so my note was of tangential significance.

I saw them once at Hobby Fish Milton Keynes, but that was many years ago.

Wildwoods or Wholesale Tropicals London could be worth a call too.

Actually, a lot of places can get them if you ask - but they are pretty unlikely to just order one. Importers don't tend to import them because they are hard to sell and keep if you aren't selling them very quickly (same for shops). When we see them it tends to be someone has got them that's not tried them before.

2 big ones came up recently at a Castleford auction. I'll keep my eye out for you.

Jools, what do you mean by hard to keep? Quick (?) growth and the adult size of 1.5' TL or something else? I thought they were quite unfussy but only from what I read.

I have the fish in this picture http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/im ... e_id=13638 in with some sunfish and it is a good tank mate at the moment...I keep an eye on it though as I think that could change one day, he is only about 6-7 inch right now.

I meant hard to keep as they take up a lot of space or try to harm each other. They are otherwise very hardy.

If not mistaken, that's only the US.

Sara, it's been a while... have you found any in UK?

Maybe they do, but it seems daft to ship a £10 fish from china to the us and then back to the uk.
