Sexing L201

hi guys, i bought a group of L201.. it should be 7 fish, but when i got it, 2 is already death.. :(

the seller say that there is 2 male and 5 female in this group.. i know that the seller is not pro with plecos.. so i think he just said it becos some of this fish is very fat...

so pls see them and sexing them..
their size is around +-3" and i think need more then 1 year before they can spawn..

L201 can be tricky (they can be all quite spiny, even the females). Best way to look is at the pectorial finrays. If thick and have long odonthodes (spines) it will be a male.
Females also have some odonthode growth but much less than a male.

For instance your second photo is showing 2 males. I think on your first picture the top left fish could be a female as it's pectorial finray is thin and long. Also headshape is a little narrower, typical for females.
