Please ID Peckoltia sp. ?

Post by furrfred »

Hi Gents

Could you please help me to ID these fish.
I bought them as L208, which of course is wrong.
I am guessing about L202?
By the way, it looks like 2 pairs for me.

Thanks a lot!
Regards Fred

I agree, P. brevis aka . How big are they? I'm not sure about the 2/2.
Cheers,

Likewise agree they're . These are either too young to sex, or all females. I've had several groups of these over the years, one of my favorites because of the subdued color, and mature males have always developed an extremely thick ray along the top of the caudal fin. If I had to make a comparison, it looks similar to the primary pectoral ray with more odontodes on it. A couple of the pics in the catelog show this trait, but it appears more predominantly on a live fish than the pics.
