Breeding Siblings

Years ago, I obtained a group of young F1 Queen Arabesque (I expect I got them from BARBIE). I grew them up for nearly 3 years.
They never seemed to have any obvious "sexual" interest, despite being pretty sure both sexes were in the tank.
Disregarding my set up, I'm curious whether anyone has successfully bred sibling:
1) Hypancistrus zebra.
OR
had trouble doing the same?

Here's to a spirited debate :-)

Even though I don't expect Hypancistrus not to recognize their siblings, I would suggest not te breed with siblings: genetic foults in their parents will be enhanced in second generation offspring and further.

It will not be that hard to obtain another, not related, F1 fish, and this one could be bred with your fishes. Try to get a male, as they are harem breeders.

This did not go into whay no sexual activity is seen, but for that I'd refer to all the information on this website

No offense intended to Bas Pels.

I wasn't looking for a solution, I was just curious if anyone else noticed the reluctance for Hypancistrus siblings to breed?

Yes, you had my very first L260 fry, actually ;). I have not had spawns from groups where only siblings were present, but mainly because I try to keep the groups with a wide open gene pool. I do not think even two generations of inbreeding would be the end of the world, as gene pools go, as long as you realistically introduce new genetics as frequently as possible. Let me know, I'll swap males with you or something :).
