Finally got a chance to post some pictures of my cory. Any good advice how to get them to spawn ? I'm currently keep them in tap water (7.8 pH) temp at 76 Deg F. Food 90% NLS sinking pellets 1mm.

Enjoy

If that is your whole group, there doesn't seem like a fat plump female. Feed them heavily on FBW and especially live worms (white or black). Need to get the females nice and fat first \:d/

I just start feed them grindal worms. Them seem to love it. How many time per day do you feed them live food?

I don't have CW009, but I do have the quite similar CW010 (gold lasers). Mine spawn frequently now, especially at this time of year. I agree that grindals worms or other live food might help. Also You also might try adding a lot of oak leaves and do some large water changes, lowering the temperature a few degrees.

I can't explain this, but mine tend to spawn when I move them into a different tank. It's happened on several occasions. I now rotate my Cw010s between a 55 gallon community tank and a 15 gallon corydoras only tank. I usually get eggs a few days after moving them into the 15 gallon. I almost never see eggs in the 55. It's possible they're laying eggs and someone is eating them, but I don't think that's the case.

Have you tried a post in the wanted forum?

Corywally has some lasers but can't remember if they are golds or greens (he takes them to CSG & Castleford auctions)

Thank you for your advice, they are in their own 50gal tank by themself. I only have grindal worms but I don't feed them live food that much only once or twice a week. At what water temperature do you keep them ?

hey

i sucessfully raied over 100+ peru gold stripe fry!
i had 18 adults 6 females 12 males!
i found haveing theree p.h around 6.5 then doing a hard water, water change would get them to spawn! but the greens are harder then the golds!
kept my tempurture at 24 degrease! and droped it to 20 when water chanes took place!
i found just haveing a big group increases ur chances of spawning!

but remember

THEY WIL SPAWN WHEN THEY WANT TO... AND NOT WHEN YOU WANT THEM TO!

haha lil buggers

goood luck with the breeding

:)

71-72F. I'm not convinced that the cold water changes actually produce spawning in my cories, however. It seems to be the case for many fishkeepers, so it's worth trying.

I have a cw009 cory group. I haven't been able to spawn them. I have read in this post that you had the same problem last year. Had you successful? Did you get breed them? If did it, I'll be glad if you give me any advise.

Thank you, anyway.

I have had a group of Green Lasers for years. I did manage to spawn them for 2 season's. They are not the same as other laser cory's, they can't be compared by Gold lasers.
Mine were hard to spawn and only did so from May/June till late September. I kept them on rainwater or RO. Soft black waters are required for this species to spawn.
I fed them live foods and my temperature was 24-26 degrees. I did water changes every other day, temp dropped to around 18 degrees. It is best not to have strong lighting above the tank.

Good luck, you'll need it!!
