New Leporacanthicus triactis

Post by bigamefish »

Hey everybody I just bought a beautiful new Leporacanthicus triactis! He is very nice looking inky black with perfect orange bars on his fins! I was just wondering what kind of behavior they have? Are they a very shy species? Or are they a more active of a pleco? Feel free to share any good/bad exeperiences with this particular pleco!

I bought one of these recently.
Very nice fish.

Mine is still very shy. But I am sure that as it settles down, it will come out more.

Mine are fairly shy, but do come out for food.

Yes, somewhat shy. I have a dragon fin variety. Luckily, it decided to call a piece of driftwood in the middle of the tank home, so it's easily seen.

mine are young, and as mats said, they do come out for food. I arranged the caves so that they are all always visible (well their tails atleast). They will rarely venture out during the day, unless the food is present.
