Hello all. I stumbled across this pic online and was wondering if any one could pin down the species. Ive never seen one with dot/bars that match it. Any help would be great.

A collection locality and a few more specific pictures would be better.
This fish actually quite nicely matches the A. tanganicanus that is shown in the Retzer revision, it does look different than the ones on the data page. whether this is because of a size difference, maturity or we have the wrong ID, I can not say.
The one in the revision is 237.7mm SL, difficult to say what size the fish in the first picture above is, the second looks mature.
Is there anyone out there that has seen a tanganicanus in the wild or one that was absolutely for sure from the lake.
