Greetings. I hope that this is allowed in this section. I have been unable to get a species name for this fish. I know that many of the people here keep many species other than cats. They have started spawning, so I'd like to start raising them. Anyone have any idea what they actually are??? Cheers. - Frank

Just wanted to say that I'm very happy for this section of the forum to be used for this sort of thing. Lovely fish!
Cheers,

That is an awesome looking tetra. But I can't say I have ever seen them before. I hope you get lots of fry so they start showing up in the hobby more!

There's a fish sold as
Inpaichthys sp. "blueberry" which looks much like that.

Hmmm. Well, I don't do much measuring, but they are definitely on the upper end of most tetra species. Almost as large as the last Congos that I kept, if that helps at all.
Cheers. - Frank

They look amazing and I would never have picked them for congo size. I wonder if they are available down here.
Great photo's by the way.

I guess I should try to measure one. Who knows how mature my Congos were for comparison?

Kinda rare. I only know of a handful of people keeping them.
Great photo's by the way.
Thanks. I'm happy with the female shot, but still working to get a better one of thhe male. He was not the most intensely colored in the tank, but they are quite active and never slow down. Cheers. - Frank

I would love to acquire a small school of these for myself (perhaps ten). Please let me know if you spawn any for sale or know of a retailer selling them. Thanks
