Hey again everybody I was just wondering to myself what species of pleco has the most personality? I want to hear your opinion! I haven't been in the hobby long enough to know!

Do you mean which Cats are most active?,I think Personality is more about a individual fishes
distinguishing behaviour rather than species of fish.

My phantoms(L128s and L200s) are the most active with each other chasing each other quite a bit. Nothing overly aggressive though don'tworry. They don't hide very much and seem to the most active out of all the other ones that I have.

I have a S. aureatus that lives in a display tank at my house. He's out all the time, begs for food, flares his fins, and sleeps on his back out in the open under a log. I think it really just depends on the individual fish and their amount of comfort with their tank mates.

My "Algot", a Hypostomus plecostomus is definitely, still after 30 odd years, the most "personality" fish I've ever kept. He (not certainly about actual sex of the fish) would come out and beg for food when I went in the room. If other people came in the room, he would go into hiding immediately (upside down in a stone cave). Very special fish in my mind.

I wouldn't say that my L204s have lots of personality, but with 4 in the tank they're out in the open, defending territories, chasing each other, etc. So what ever pleco you get, maybe get a couple more.

I have two Ancistrus, and they are always out chasing each other around, chasing other fish around, grazing on plastic and real plant leaves, crawling in and out of the filter, etc. etc. My larger albino ancistrus once climbed into my hand when I was in doing a waterchange. They even ride on top of my snails! I love these guys. :-p :-BD \M/

I have a few that have good personalities....but L75's in general seem to stand out the most in my fish room. My big famale isn't shy and lets me know she wants to be fed....

I've never kept them, but I hear are good fun, being always active and chasing each other around. They are cheap too, and would be an ideal breeding project.
