Hello again I am just wondering how shy a juvenile 2.5 inch L-114 would be?

Small L114 are very shy.
They almost only go out at night during feeding time.
But it get better when the reach 4", they are less shy.
Mine are 7-8" and not shy anymore.

My largest one is 5-5.5" SL. It's the biggest fish in the tank, but yet it likes to hide in a ceramic log (which luckily is near the side of the tank where I can see it easily). Mine like to be near the current of the cannister intake. I guess the benefit of my L114 being shy is that my plants aren't destroyed.

Mine started out very shy. I never saw it for the first few months that I had it.
But as it got bigger it came out more and more. Particularly at feeding time.
