was wondering if any of you know more info on pseudoplatystoma tigrinum, i have both the pseudoplatystoma fasciatum and the tigrinum, every site i find though gives you info on the fasciatum. i know them as tiger shovelnose catfish and tiger shovelnose
i know the fasciatum can get around 50" or so was wondering on the tigrinum though

Checked the
Cat-eLog?
Pseudoplatystoma tigrinum reaches about the same size as
P. fasciatum.

it still shows a picture of what i thought was the fasciatum wich is the one with more of a tiger pattern than the mostly black one with a horizontal stripe in with the same pics

You're right. The Cat-eLog has had the two species mixed up....the pictures labelled as
P. fasciatum are actually
P. tigrinum and vice versa.
The Cat-eLog entry for
P. fasciatum is
here.
