Will Flash Pleco L-204 Panaque Sp. Crossbreed with Leopard Frog Pleco L-134 Peckolita Sp. if I housed Together? I have 7 134's and 5 204's and I was hoping I could put them together safely in a Breeder tank. Thanks :character-oscar:

Very, very unlikely. Should not be a problem combining them IMO.

I agree but bear in mind that the 134's prefer a warmer temp, I housed them together and the 204's seemed uncomfortable and moved to a different, cooler tank and they have since seemed less stressed and more apt to feed in the open, and there is a dietary difference also...of course thats how it works for me, your results can be different. enjoy

I had a 204 a 134 in a 50 gallon. The 204 beat the snot out of 134 so I had to seperate them.

I also have tried keeping L204 and L134 together but for the differences in respective preferred environmental factors and the large size of L204 coupled with their assertiveness makes me think they are not an ideal combination.

Hybridizing these two species is most improbable.

I've seen 204's become quite nasty to less robust smaller fancy plecos - hyps etc on occasions. I'm not saying they will be, just they could be. If you have tons of space then maybe it could be problem free.

FWIW, I kept mature and together at 27C, and they cohabited with no apparent problems.

I would agree, though, that they are probably better off in separate tanks, especially if breeding is your aim.

Neither group has hit maturity yet. This is for a few months until I move some things around. I just wanted to make sure that they wont hybridize.
