Some of my most unique L600

Post by PseudaSmart »

I wanted to share some photos of the offspring I kept from my L600 spawn 9 months ago. These are some of the most spectacular and unique of the group. The photos don't due them justice. They are all around 3"

I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I have enjoyed watching them grow!

I did not adjust the photos in any way so I hopee the color shows correctly.

Very nice ones Jim! Could they be males? (males tend to have nicer colors than the females).

wow, 3" in 9 months? What are you feeding yours? I just got a new L114 and it's a baby at 1.5-1.75 SL. Assuming your rate of growth, mine is only 6 months (I got it in December).

Don't freak out too much, these were my special ones and are spoiled! They are fed Spectrum Thera A and Hikari Carnivore Pellets. They are also in a large water system and get frequent water changes. They like the water on the warm side also.

If you have any more questions send me a PM.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words it was had work and took several years before success.

Could you post a pic of some of your "non unique" L600 for comparison?
Also, have you considered feeding with Repashy gel food (I wonder these would grow even faster). See www.repashy.com

I need to sort thru my tank of L600s I was holding back for future breeders. These were ones that stood out from the others at the time. They should be between 3-6". I would like to keep more but the kids won't give up their pool! Anyone interested please send me an email at pseudasmart@earthlink.net. I should have 5 or 6. I only plan on local pickup or by airport because they are so nice and not that many. Sorry as I know it drives up cost. I will have photos of each one for review.

I will try to get this organized in about 2 weeks.
Thanks,
Jim
