Yes, it is the yellow variant of the L056 - Google Image Search "Xanto Pleco" and check them out.

Wrong L number, wrong species, wrong genus!
The fish you are looking for is . It doesn't have an L number.
EDIT, looks like you beat me to it Dave!

Re: WTB - Parancistrus aurantiacus (Yellow)
Thanks Dave/racoll! This is some of the info that I was looking for.
Wondering, is there a yellow variant of L056? I have found the Parancistrus aurantiacus that I am looking for mis-labeled many times as L56Y or L056 as the yellow variant.
Thanks again.

Re: WTB - L56Y (Yellow)
As there are no registered keepers of this fish, , at Planet Catfish and no specimens pictured in Ingo Seidels' books, mislabeled is putting it mildly!mis-labeled many times as L56Y or L056 as the yellow variant
I don't believe there is an "xanto" form of L056.

Thanks Dave. Yes - There are a lot of mis-labels out there, unless you are looking for L56Y - Audi car paint....that is probably the only correct one!

Re: WTB - L56Y (Yellow)
You´re right, there isn´t. Parancistrus aurantiacus doesn´t have anything to do with Guyanancistrus/Pseudancistrus sp. "L 56".Dave Rinaldo wrote:I don't believe there is an "xanto" form of L056.
This number was published by DATZ correctly in 02/1990, but GLASER & GLASER (1995) assigned this number a second time.
