- Tatia musaica
- Tatia simplex

- Centromochlus schultzi
- Centromochlus romani

Yeah they're hard to come by in the US as well... that or i'm just having terrible luck.
I resorted to ordering the Centromochlus reticulatus from a seller in Canada. I gave up looking for them in the US since the few companies that sell them are all currently out of stock.

it is almost impossible to find good woodcats here in the US. I am lucky to have my group of jaguar cats!

Not unique to the US, I'd say. They are pretty rare here too - I travel 200+ miles to get T. gyrina, for example. Not saying they can't be found from time to time, but if you consider that England as a whole is about 350 miles from the south coast in England to the Scottish border (by road).

We are lucky in United Kingdom to have 60 million people on a fairly small island (well a few islands if you count all of the United Kingdom), which allows more specialist shops to at least exist. In the US, with everything being pretty well spread out, it's harder to run a specialist business, as 200 or 300 miles won't get you out of the state in some cases. If I go 300 miles in a roughly South East direction, I'll be in France, Belgium or the Netherlands - or even Germany if we go more directly east. 300 miles to the west, and I'd be a fair bit into the Atlantic...

I have to agree that woodcats are difficult to come by here in the U.S. I am keeping what would seem to be the most common species: milky way cats, honeycomb cats and jaguar cats. Did you get the reticulatus from Oliver Lucanus?

Even C. perugiae seems to be increasingly hard to come by lately... are these guys seasonal?

You're lucky that you have access to T. gyrina, MatsP. Someone in the US was selling them on Aquabid just last March but he no longer has any... i should have bought them while i had the chance. Argg.

Anyway, i've been e-mailing some aquarium shops in various states to see if they could special order any of these Tatia species for me. I've gotten a few e-mails back that sound hopeful. Stay tuned....

And yes, i got my C. reticulatus from Oliver. Great guy to work with!

i actually purchased some of those last year on aquabid, but they didn't make it though the first week. They, for some reason, refused to eat and I tried everything, bloodworms (live, frozen freeze dried) earthworm flakes, community flakes, live brine shrimp, frozen brine, freeze dried brine shrimp and freeze dried and frozen mysis, they wouldn't eat.. I kick myself to having them die...

There doesn't appear to be many of these available in the US. I'm in the UK and have gyrina (both forms)- which are usually easily available, not seen simplex yet, musaica were available in Europe last year but were too pricey for me.

There are two forms of T. gyrina? Can you elaborate? Do you mean one with spots and the other with the stripe?

I know someone with an importing license and would be willing to purchase these sp. from people in other countries as long as the necessary paperwork/licensing is filled out for legal exporting. If anyone knows a source for these guys in Europe/etc, please do contact me.

I don't know where the Musaica were in Europe but if you're after unusual woodcats over here try http://www.aquarium-glaser.de/en/fish.p ... 56&lang=en Glaser. I'm not sure other places like Pier aquatics ship outside the UK.

For some reason there are more and more different woodcats arriving in the Netherlands.
I got Tatia strigata some months ago. It was sold in Germany.

So hopefully these guys are turning up in the States shortly

Apparently you're looking for hard to find species.
So I wonder if all these "bumps" have any use (you've made 15 postings so far, of which 8 contain "bump").
I'd also like to advise you to put edits in your latest post instead of the first ones, so people can see how things are going. Not many will start reading from the top, so they'll miss that information.

But - as you are looking for species from the right family - I certainly hope you'll find some more sooner or later. Patience is the key word here. It took me about 10 years to collect a number of auchenipterid species - hope you don't have to wait that long.
