No one?! :(

My LFS says they imported them from Peru.

Any idea?

Thank you!

Ancistrus are really difficult to identify, with a few exceptions that are pretty unique...

Unfortunately, the link to GoneWild isn't particularly helpful, as it doesn't have anything to indicate for example where it was caught, and no species designation. [And of course, I suspect you are saying "I think it's this" because you think it looks the same, perhaps because you got to that page from a google for "Ancistrus peru", not because you know it came from that company, right?]

If you can find out where it was caught (what river), we may be able to narrow it down - Peru is a big country (I suspect it's in the Amazon side of the Andes, which narrows it down a little bit, but there are Ancistrus on the Pacific side too).

Of course, it may also be that someone will read this post over the next few days and say "Yeah, it's X". I'm just saying that identifying this group is pretty hard, because nearly all of them are some variation of dark brown/grey to black, and most have white/light spots. Some don't have spots, but some sort of network pattern, but this pattern isn't quite as common.
