Spatuloricaria sp?

Post by The.Dark.One »

This beasty was shown at the Solway Tri-Specialist show. It measured about 25 cm SL. What isnt visible properly in the poor shot of the whole fish (lighting was very dim) is the very long extension to the top of the caudal fin.

Hi,

Yes, that's a Spatuloricaria. It resembles the specimens exported from Colombia. Beautiful specimen.

Cheers

The owner thought it was S. caquetae, which is the closest I could find too based on Evers & Seidel's Catfish Atlas Vol 1. I understand that hails from Colombia so probably that species then.
