What kind of Cory can or should I get for my tank? it currently houses a small Bumblebee Jelly Cat, I will be getting a small Commom Pleco as well. The tank is about 8 gallons and has a gravel substrate with an internal filter and an air stone. You can see more info on my signature, here is a picture of it

Thanks for any assistance :) I will be going to the local fish store later today.

Hi!

My honest opinion is that you shouldnt add any Pleco to an 8 Gallon tank (thats by4 if im correct so 30 liters? ) which is not really enough for Ancistrus not to speak of the huge growing ones like "commons".

As for Corys you could go with C.hastatus or pygmaeus as the ground space is very limited in this "tank".

Maybe some shrimp would fit better in there...

I weas thinking of only about 3 corys at the most and a common pleco, the pleco would only be there until he grows too big and then would graduate to a larger tank, 30, 40, or 110, depending on whats available ;) it will be a juvenile to start with, probly less than 2inches.

the tank is too small for the a fullgrown bumblebee but he is very small right now. I will eventually be buying a 55 gallon tank if the 110 gallon im supposed to be given does not pan out as planned.

I saw some very small "Blonde Plecos" at the shop i went to today, they dont resemble the Blonde Rubber Nose plecos in the Cat-E-Log but resemble more of an albino common pleco. will hve to ask their common name when I go back. I will probly wind up with one of those and 3 corys. Would Panda Corys do ok? eventually the pleco and bumblebee will move out of this tank and into my 110 or 55 gallon tank.

then I will start raising some guppies for treats for the bumblebee  and for something to look at as well 8) but that is well down the road, probly a few months after I move to my new house or new apartment (depending on which I can afford and get :P)

not sure if I should ask this here or in south americat (everything else) but when this guys is full grown (the bumblebee, he gets to 8 inches) will he snack on corys? I have a friend with the same cat and we are wodnering if it would be safe to mix corys and a bumblebee...

Hi!

Again imo i see no reason to put a huge growing fish in a very small tank, even if its still only 5 cm. It will outgrow the tank in a couple of months...and my experience is that fish like these grow much better if more space is available. So why not put it in the bigger tank right away?
Btw if you dont give information like available space and so on, ppl will ask you what youll do with a 50 cm fish in a couple of years.

the reason he is not in there now is that neither tank is available. I am supposed to be given the 110 gallon tank, I should know more this week as to if I get the tank or not. I I do not get the tank I will purchase a 55 Gallon tank when I have the cash to get it and everything needed to put in it. I also have to keep in mind that he is fine as he is, why would I want to setup a tank that would take that much time and effort just to take it apart 3 months later when I will more than likely be moving. the cat is fine where he is, all these questions are planning for a few months away.

thanks for the info though.
