Hypancistrus or Peckoltia ?
Hi everyone,
A friend sent me these pictures to identify the fish,
I can not tell if it is Peckoltia sp or Hypancistrus sp ...
What do you think?
The fish seemed to me more like Hypancistrus than Peckoltia , But I'm not sure.
Thanks in advance

A deformed Peckoltia would be my guess.

Thank friends
I forgot to mention that I don't know where the fish came from.

Re: Hypancistrus or Peckoltia ?
Would it be possible to get a photo of the mouth/teeth? That should settle the Peckoltia vs. Hypancistrus at the very least. Then we can start the discussion as to which species it is...

Hi,
looking at the head which is very short I agree with Hypancistrus furunculus.

Mats
Hey Mats,
Believe me I asked him for 10 times to send me a picture of the teeth, he said the pictures do not come out good enough and can not see anything.
The first thing that came to my mind is image of the teeth.
Thanks
Also, thanks to all of those who tried to identify the fish.
Is there anyone here who thinks that this is not L199?
