Hei Birger
It's a bit brave to label these L236, because they could very well be L399/L400 instead. If I was to pay big bucks for L236, I wouldn't be too happy if I got these. And yes, that has happened to me too ;)

Hei Håkon:)
I visited my friends today, to look at the fish, comparing all the picks and books, that we had, thees are so close to 236.
And they have spawned....
I will be back to them in a few weeks, and will bring my camera for picks.

They look like L400 to me, especially the 1st picture.

Re: Bought as L-236..
I was thinking the same and i realy hoped you could answer this question. If anybody wonders who Unungy is, he is importer and dealer of catfish. He has a lot of experience.
I Must Ask Birger, who is this person in norway who says he has them and breeds them?
I've always wondered why everybody almost automatcly believes the germans....

Thank you for your kind words, I don't consider myself an expert but someone that has seen some of these nice rare plecos a few times.juventus wrote:I was thinking the same and i realy hoped you could answer this question. I believe the first pleco to be an L399\L400, better pictures will help us to determine for sure.
The second pleco looks different than the first one but more pictures will also help.

I'm not sure they do. But if they do, I suspect it's the weight of literature they've produced. Literature that doesn't say this is X and not Y but attempts to explain why how X is different from Y.juventus wrote:I've always wondered why everybody almost automatcly believes the germans....
