On the scrounge!

Hello all,

Just got the connector adaptor for my rena smart heater but I need an off cut of proper aquarium 16mm hose.

At the mo I'm using an off cut of food grade rubber hose but its bright yellow and sticks out like a sore thumb.

I'm blatantly begging for a 3" length of clear 16mm hose. Would be very wasteful to buy 1m for just 3".

Please pm me and I'll paypal postage and the price of a pint.

Thanks in advance,

Andy.

Apologies if this 'begging thread' should be in the wanted bit.

Thanks in advance,

Andy.

Hi Andy
I'm sure I have some - pm me your address and I'll post it off to you tomorrow.
As an aside, I didn't get on with the adapter, and just reverted to cutting the inlet short.
Cheers
Martin

I have a tetratec ex600 filter. I'm using a hose joiner to join the 12mm tetra hose to 16mm rena fittings. Just looks a bit pants with bright yellow hose.

Much appreciate your help.

Thanks!!!

PM sent

Is the inlet for the tetratec hard 12mm? If you look down the heater from above, it takes 16mm at the top and 12mm lower - I just cut the hard pipe so I had about 6" straight past the bend and that goes down into the heater. I kept finding air got into the system using the adapter, hopefully you won't get the same problem.
Cheers
Martin

No air present..well not yet.

I bought the filter slightly used for £30. The inlet down pipe got mangled by my 5 year old son!

You can always use the Eheim in/out pipes if you need spares (as most shops carry Eheim, but not TetraTec) - there are 12 or 16mm Eheim pipes available.

Many thanks Martin!

Just got home to find a jiffy package with two bits of hose.

Thank you very much!

How do I 'rate' or give some one a thumbs up for helping out? A lot of forums you can click on an icon to do that. On here its called gratitude but I cant find how to?

The "thanks" feature is in the works. Jools tried to install it a few days back, but it broke things pretty badly (users couldn't log in, which is about as bad as it gets). So expect it to be a few more days.
